Classic Sports Car

Welcome

- ALASTAIR CLEMENTS Editor in chief

There is a theme running throughout the news pages of this month’s C&SC, and it’s one that makes me incredibly proud to be a member of the historic-vehicle movement. In these challenging and unprecedented times, it’s easy to feel as if you aren’t doing enough to help, but a number of philanthropic classic enthusiasts have taken matters into their own hands and mobilised our community to put on a variety of virtual events in aid of vital charitable organisations. These have resulted in people across the globe coming together to entertain, to keep each other sane, and to raise both awareness of and funds for the key workers striving to keep us healthy. Not being able to get out and enjoy our classic cars is a form of torture for many of us, but these events have allowed us to indulge in our shared passion from the safety of our homes. We’ve namechecked just a few, but there are so many more and if you have been involved in organising any of them, we salute you. While we’re in celebratory mode, in this issue we’re also raising a glass to the 110th anniversary of the foundation of ALFA, which a decade later would become Alfa Romeo. C&SC has a long tradition of employing passionate Alfisti, and we’ve let a few of them pick their favourite Alfas for our ‘A to Z’ tribute. We hope you have as much fun reading it as we did putting it together.
