EVO’S RECORD SEND-OFF

-

The Mitsubishi Evo VI Tommi Mäkinen Edition formerly on the manufacturer’s heritage fleet broke the £100,000 barrier with Auto Auction in a timed online sale throughout April.

As the marque prepares to leave the UK market, every car in its collection was auctioned by the new online specialist, which includes racer turned TV presenter Tiff Needell as brand ambassador. The 15-car set totalled £479,500.

The 2001 Evo TME’S £101,100 model record eclipsed that of a delivery-miles Evo IX sold in 2017, and came with a bonnet signed by the rally great. A 2008 Evo IX MR

FQ-360 by HKS sold for £68,900, while the 2015 Evo X 440 MR pitted against the TME in C&SC’S January issue achieved £58,100.

The first Mitsubishi registered in the UK, a Mk1 Colt Lancer from 1974, sold for £15,000 and an Fj-rivalling 1983 Jeep J27 was bought for £20,600.
