How long have you been in the business? I’ve been a collector for 15 of my 46 years, with the past six as owner of Carcave BV.

What would you never part with? First, our very well used Lancia Fulvia 1.3. My wife would rather I left the house than our Fulvia. And second, a painting my mum did of Ayrton Senna in his Mclaren, pulling away from Alain Prost.

What’s your daily driver? I have a customised Land Rover Defender 110 V8. Built for any occasion and no stress on the road.

Is the classic market strong at the moment? It is always strong with the right kind of collectors: enthusiasts, people that just want to own and stay in tune with these beauties. We are doing more and more bespoke restorations, too.
