FRANK HIPKIN 1937- 2012

Classic Trial - - SPRITE BEST OF BRITISH -

Frank Hipkin died on the 13th September 2012 aged 75 but always kept his passion for motorcycles alive. Two weeks before he passed away he had been playing on his KTM motocross machine.

The family foundry, titled Sprite Alloys, is still in use today as they produce metal furniture for the office, club and restraunt trade. The legacy of the foundry and its part in motorcycle production was sold after Hipkin used it to produce his own engine components including pistons.

The enterprise progressed to become today’s Omega Pistons, whose customers include the Ducati MotoGP road race team. Frank is seen here in 2012 at Alan Wright’s Telford Classic Show surrounded by a collection of his treasured Sprite motorcycles.
