Classic Trial

BPS BRAND

- Words: Jean-Claude Commeat Pictures: BPS factory collection and Jean-Claude Commeat

Built during the 1970s, the BPS Yak was the very first trials machine produced in France and it was more of a trail bike than a pure competition machine. This fruit of the labours of a team passionate about mechanised sports, and in particular off-road, was first presented to the public in 1976. Classic Trial Magazine had the chance to get to ride one of the rare models that remains. It is time to review the history of this French manufacturer, which today no longer exists.
