PUTOLINE TIMELINE 1970-2014
1970 Jan Put launches the Putoline brand in Bladel in the South of Holland
1975 Putoline was introduced into the UK and distributed initially by Hewetts. 1977 Putoline was distributed via Bryan Goss the UK Maico importer.
1992 Dutchman Theo Kothuis purchased Putoline from Jan Put and began Putoline BV in Bladel. 1986 Mark Hood and Brenda Scotney formed, Putoline Oil Ltd.
1992 Lintek Gleave became the UK Distributor and sales start to reduce.
1995 Putoline Distribution Ltd was formed and owned by Putoline BV and appoint Mark Hood as MD.
1999 John Hayden begins to work with Putoline Distribution in a sales position.
2000 Putoline continues to establish itself as the UK’s number 1 off road lubricant brand.
2001 April Mark Hood was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident.
2001 August John Hayden is appointed as Managing Director
2004 Putoline Distribution Ltd was purchased by John and Sally Hayden in a management buyout.
2007 Also became the UK Bell helmet distributor.
2008 Putoline becomes the official oil sponsor of the SSDT.
2009 Also became the UK Lazer helmet distributor.
2010 January Moved in Blue Diamond House as larger premises were needed for offices and warehousing.
2010 Sept Appointed trials specialist Apico as an official Putoline wholesaler for off road products alongside existing wholesalers , CI Sport and Off Road Only.
2012 Putoline is now the official UK lubricant for Scorpa, Ossa, Beta and Gas Gas.
2014 Also became official UK distributor of CZ high quality drive chains and Roof helmets.
2014 October Putoline also becomes the official UK lubricant for Sherco.
