KELLY: ‘I’m scared of jinxing engagement number three!’
After two failed engagements, pals say Kelly Brook is nervous of officially announcing her plans to marry Jeremy Parisi over fears their relationship will suffer the same fate
he’s been fuelling S rumours of an engagement after regularly flashing a sparkler on the ring finger of her left hand, but Kelly Brook has stayed tight-lipped about whether her boyfriend of almost a year, Jeremy Parisi, has asked her to marry him.
Last week – when she was congratulated on the rumoured proposal – Kelly, 36, reportedly replied: “I can’t say [if I’m engaged] but thank you.”
After two failed engagements – to Hollywood actor Billy Zane in 2008 and ex- Gladiators star David Mcintosh in 2014 – pals say Kelly is worried about being publicly humiliated again in case things don’t work out, so is refusing to make an official announcement.
PLAYING IT SAFE
A source says: “Kelly is fearful of history repeating itself, but she’s so excited she can’t help but flaunt her ring, although she’s still cautious and wants to play it safe.”
In October, Kelly said in an interview that she and Frenchman Jeremy, 30, were “definitely heading in the right direction” when it came to marriage.
Last week in London at the second anniversary party for the bar Steam And Rye, which Kelly co-owns, onlookers spotted the model and actress constantly checking that Jeremy was OK, wrapping her arms around him and kissing him.
A source says: “Kelly is beaming with happiness. Jeremy treats her like she’s royalty. She’s been learning French so she can speak to him in his own language.
“In the past she’s worried that some men have only been with her for her fame, but she knows Jeremy isn’t interested in that and would rather be at home making her dinner than at a showbiz party. She thinks this is what makes their relationship different from all the others.”
Back in 2011, Kelly tragically suffered two miscarriages while she was dating rugby player Thom Evans. Now insiders reveal that they wouldn’t be surprised if she was hoping to announce a pregnancy before long.
BABY HOPES
Two years ago, the star revealed her dreams of starting a family, saying: “Hopefully I’ll have a baby soon.”
And a source says: “Kelly’s been giving the gym a miss the past few weeks, despite swearing to shed a few pounds this year. When she’s out she’s been drinking sparkling apple juice too.
“She would love to be a mum and has joked to pals that she’d like to have at least three children with Jeremy! Friends are hoping it will happen for her soon.”
