LAUREN TELLS SIMON:

is days as a famous H bachelor ended when he settled down with girlfriend Lauren Silverman and they had their 23-month-old son Eric.

But pals say marriage is firmly off the cards for Simon Cowell after seeing Cheryl Fernandezversini face the breakdown of her marriage to Jean-bernard.

As Closer previously reported, Lauren and Simon, 56, were supporting Cheryl through her break-up, with Simon revealing two weeks ago: “I text her to see if she’s OK. She’s fine.”

But pals say Lauren, 38, fears Cheryl has put him off making a serious commitment to her.

A pal says: “Lauren and Simon have been very supportive of Cheryl, but seeing all the drama she’s going through has made Simon more adamant marriage isn’t for him. Lauren really feels for Cheryl but she’s asked Simon not to let her experiences put him off. She’d love to be his wife.”

Simon has had a string of girlfriends including Sinitta and Terri Seymour. In 2010, he got engaged to make-up artist Mezhgan Hussainy but they split a year later. Now friends say Lauren is worried Simon – who was spotted looking tired last week as rumours swirled that X Factor faces the axe – is so busy he wouldn’t even have time to plan a proposal.

A pal says: “Now Simon is back to BGT she misses him. She wishes he had more time, but she’s not lost hope that she’ll be Mrs Cowell one day.”
