ver since Paul and his E tousled mane showed up on the Square he’s barely been able to resist the bespectacled, geeky – not to mention murderous – Ben Mitchell. Ben, aka Son Of Phil, has returned the compliment by squeezing in a few illicit liaisons with his pal down The Arches. What a romantic tale this would be, if only Abi Branning wasn’t also involved in this bizarre love triangle. Abi – oblivious to her boyfriend’s sexual leanings – desperately wants a future with Ben. There’s one thing that could make pesky Paul push off, and that’s a baby. Far be it for us to suggest perhaps this “pregnancy” isn’t all as it seems, but Abi and the meddling Babe are certainly acting suspiciously, and there looks to be something troubling the supposed mother-to-be when she drags Ben to a doctor’s appointment. Elsewhere, stickybeak Babe ruffles yet more feathers by trying it on with Les (oh my…), and this spells trouble for Les and Pam when she noses into something she shouldn’t. Meanwhile, Kathy gets a shock to find creepy Gavin waiting for her, even more so when he breaks down blubbing over the Sharon situation. Plus, on Monday, Martin punches Kush when various developments see Stacey missing out on a hospital bed. Well, it’s been a long time coming… I like where it’s going. The stories that are coming in are making us more adult and a bit more edgy.
