Fridge raider

CBB star Megan Mckenna, 23, on what’s in her fridge

Where do you shop? I’m coeliac, which means I have an adverse reaction to gluten, so I’m a big fan of Sainsbury’s wheat-free range. They have a great frozen food section and I’m always stocking up on pizzas and Genius Yorkshire pies. I spend £70 a week – wheat-free food can be so expensive, bread alone can cost around £3! What’s your typical daily diet? For breakfast I’ll have a poached egg on wheat-free toast with a dollop of brown sauce. Lunch is a chicken and coleslaw sandwich with prawn cocktail crisps and then for dinner a fillet steak with Philadelphia mushroom sauce, mash and spinach. I snack on celery and houmous or wheatfree chocolate fingers. Is there anything you refuse to eat? Obviously, I don’t eat wheat and gluten. I’ve had coeliac disease (a digestive condition) since I was six. I took time off school and found it hard to eat out with my friends when I was younger. I’ve got it under control now and there are so many restaurants that do gluten-free menus. What’s the strangest thing you eat? A chicken and peanut butter sandwich or sometimes I pour black tea on my cereal instead of milk. My friends think I’m mad! What’s your impress-a-date dish? Slow-cooked lamb shanks in red wine with carrots and onions served with spinach, tomatoes and creamy mash all washed down with a Porn Star Martini. Food hangover cure? Nando’s! I get the medium chicken, coleslaw and sweet potato mash. My takeaway order is… A chicken tikka masala, extra spicy pilau rice and saag aloo.
