Geology student and Josie’s ex, Kingsley “He’s a decent character, but he’s capable of being a mess – and this series is set around their exams. My own uni experience was different, but the emotions were similar. I took myself too seriously…” Dentistry student Josie “Josie had gone off the rails slightly, but she was allowed to come back and do pharmacology – so now she’s a year behind. I’m really fond of her – she’s like my wayward little sister.” Rebel without a cause, Oregon “Oregon is now President of the Student Union and sees herself as an English Obama. It’s all about her power trip. This was the first TV show I did. It feels quite momentous that it’s coming to an end.”

in our family! I’ve got two older sisters, Abigail and Corinne. From four I was always putting on little plays for everyone. When I was six, I was picked from my drama class to be in a film about the murder of Stephen Lawrence. Not really. Because I’ve been doing this for so long she’s used to it now. She loves watching me on TV and coming to showbiz events with me. She joined me at the Soap Awards when I was 16 and I won best Best Young Performance. She’s very proud.

I try not to think about it too much. It’s part of life. Fans are usually lovely and I’m always happy to pose for a selfie, though I prefer it when I’m wearing make-up! People are always shouting: “You know Ben’s gay?!” or “Get back with Jay!” at me.

Jamie Borthwick [Jay] and Harry Reid [Ben], probably because we spend the most time together. We always have a good laugh. I love swimming – although I should go more often – plus hanging out with my friends. I also do a lot of dog walking and help out at my local RSPCA centre two or three times a week. I’m obsessed with dogs! I’d love to have one – but it would be too much right now. It’s all going to get even darker thanks to Aunt Babe’s interference, which is good news! I love it when Abi’s bad – the more sinister, the better.
