‘A fresh start in the States will be the making of me’

After a tough few months, insiders say Lauren Goodger is looking to relocate to the US for a new start – and finally find Mr Right

he wowed S fans with her dramatic body transformation last year – but has admitted to regaining some of the weight in the wake of her painful split from ex Jake Mclean. Now sources close to Lauren Goodger say she’s planning a fresh start in the US in a bid to give her career a reboot, finally conquer her body demons and hopefully find love again.

RELOCATION PLANS

The former TOWIE star, 29, who lost an incredible 4st last year, has told pals that she’s looking to move to LA this summer.

A source says: “Lauren hasn’t been happy in Essex for a while. She feels she might be able to get more lucrative work in the States, as she’s already done the DVD back in the UK and doesn’t have any deals in the pipeline.

“She’s hoping that LA might give her career a reboot, as well as stopping her from slipping back into her old habits and piling on the weight she worked so hard to lose.”

Sources say Lauren is also hoping to use the move to make amends with ex-boyfriend Mark Wright, who is also rumoured to be heading to the US after his children’s TV show The Dengineers was picked up by an American channel.

Lauren announced in 2014 she was “sick of the drama” of Essex life and wanted to move to LA for a bid at pop stardom. But she scrapped plans after an alleged fallout with her record label. Mark, who split from Lauren in 2011 after a rocky 10-year relationship, has been dogged by rumours that his yearlong marriage to actress Michelle Keegan is under strain – and sources say the couple, who have both held meetings with LA agents in the past, are looking to start afresh there.

AMICABLE TERMS

A source says: “Lauren’s heard that Mark is considering heading to LA – it’s installed some hope it may be easier to work on their friendship, given that they’ll be in unknown territory and may need each other for support. She would love to be able to be friends with him again – above everything, they had a great friendship. She’d like to be in a place where they could be in a bar and have a drink together – not have to avoid one another.

“While she knows it may be a long shot, she wants him to know that she would be there to support him if he ever needed it. She’s obviously been following Mark’s marriage drama, and while she doesn’t want to interfere, she wants to let him know that she’s there for him.”

Lauren, who’s yo-yoed between a size 8 and a 16 over the years, lost 4st in six months, going to a size 8-10. However, she admits she’s put on a couple of pounds after her on/off fouryear relationship with Jake ended in May.

Now sources say Lauren, who recently removed her infamous lip fillers, is determined to get into the best shape of her life before she relocates.

GETTING IN SHAPE

An insider says: “Lauren admitted that she was comforteating after her split, but she’s now on a mission to drop a dress size. She’ll go back to her daily workouts and sticking to her

diet, as well as the occasional juice cleanse and detox day.”

And pals say she’s determined this crack at Stateside stardom will be a success. A source says: “Lauren wants to hire an acting coach and line up meetings with TV networks such as E! to get a reality show. She wants to pitch a series where she helps people get in shape, too.

“Lauren’s also met up with her former CBB housemate Stephanie Pratt. She said she’d introduce her to well-connected people in the TV industry, as well as getting her on the lists to parties to raise her profile. Stephanie is a real party girl in LA and has promised to help Lauren find a new man.”

The source adds: “Dating a famous actor or singer would be Lauren’s ultimate dream, so she’s on a mission to get into the most exclusive places, such as hot spots The Nice Guy and Soho House.

“She’s taken out her lip fillers to be more natural, and says that she wants to hire a Hollywood stylist to give her a more demure look and set her apart from other ‘tacky’ reality stars. She knows the competition will be tough over there.”
