Zara Holland reveals her devastation over being stripped of her Miss GB title while her pal and fellow former Miss GB Danielle Lloyd – who was decrowned too – talks about bouncing back from a scandal
he was the reigning Miss Great Britain when she entered the villa on ITV’S Love Island last month, and regularly spoke about her title. But Zara Holland, 20, caused shockwaves when she had sex on TV with new housemate Alex Bowen – a former flame of Vicky Pattison – within 24 hours of meeting him for the first time.
After expressing huge regret on camera, Zara faced a major public backlash and was subsequently stripped of her title by pageant bosses, who said they were unable to “promote Zara as a positive role model.”
HUGE MISTAKE
Speaking last week, Zara – who was forced to quit the show just days after the scandal broke when her mother fell ill – branded the one-night stand “the
biggest mistake of my life.”
She said: “I was in the moment, I was in the hideaway and I’d had a few glasses of champagne, but I’m not blaming it on that. I made the biggest mistake of my life.”
She added: “My mum told me not to sleep with anyone so I let my mum down, which really upsets me. What’s happened has happened. I haven’t committed a crime or done anything to hurt anyone. I wouldn’t do it if I had my time again.”

Zara’s pal Danielle Lloyd – who was herself stripped of her Miss GB crown in 2006 after it was revealed she was in a relationship with one of the judges, footballer Teddy Sheringham – believes the model can survive the scandal.
