“I’ve been speaking to Zara as she knew I’d understand what she’s going through with losing her title and, although she’s really upset, she’s starting to come to terms with everything that’s happened. She was mainly worried about what her family would think, but I told her we’ve all done things that would upset our parents – they’ll be disappointed that she had sex on TV, but they’ll always love her.”

Danielle adds: “She did have a reputation to uphold, but we live in the 21st century and girls do have sex. If it was Mr Great Britain who’d had sex on TV, I doubt it would have attracted this much attention or that he’d be punished. She went on the show to find love and to build up her career; it might have backfired but I’m proof that you can move on from this and it might open other doors for her.”

Just days after Zara was slammed for her actions, her former housemates Malin and Terry were cheered on by the rest of the Islanders as they had sex in the middle of the day on TV.

And Danielle thinks this type of behaviour is becoming normalised. She adds: “So many couples in the villa have had sex, and they’re all doing it in the bedroom in front of each other, so I think it’s turned into normal behaviour for them. I’ve been in Celebrity Big Brother and you do forget the cameras are there, so I think that’s what happened with Zara. She had a responsibility to uphold as Miss GB, but it’s been blown way out of proportion.”
