he was removed from S a plane on a stretcher following a mid-air meltdown last week, later admitting it was caused by mixing alcohol with prescription medication. But friends close to actress Selma Blair reveal they’ve been increasingly worried about her over the past year.

PUBLIC OUTBURST

Legally Blonde star Selma was on a return flight from Mexico to LA after enjoying a family holiday with her ex, fashion designer Jason Bleick, and their four-yearold son Arthur, when she began screaming: “He burns my private parts. He won’t let me eat or drink. He beats me. He’s going to kill me.”

Selma later issued an apology, admitting she was “filled with shame” over her outburst.

A source says: “Selma’s mortified, but it’s forced her to admit that she needs help. Her pals have been worried about her drinking, and she takes a lot of prescription medications.”

TROUBLED LOVE LIFE

Selma, 44, and Jason split in 2012, just three months after Arthur’s birth – and pictures of her looking gaunt sparked concern shortly after. Despite having moved on with a new mystery man, pals of the star – who’s had a resurgence in her troubled career as Kris Jenner in The People vs. O.J. Simpson – say her strained relationship with Jason may have contributed to her erratic behaviour.

A source says: “Selma’s love life has always been a bit of a trainwreck. She was hoping that having a child with Jason would cement them as a couple, but he told her he just wants to be friends. Spending the weekend with him may have pushed her over the edge.

“Selma’s desperate not to jeopardise her career and family – this is the wake-up call she needed to address her issues.”

“It hurts but I’ve become much thicker-skinned since being on the TV, and I have to turn a blind eye to it.”

Critics’ pressure

And after her cancer scare, Ferne is adamant that she won’t give in to pressure from trolls to have a nose job. She says: “I feel like they’re almost

pushing me to do it. I’m a confident girl but it’s made me insecure about my nose. When I’m having a picture taken, I’ll stand at a certain angle because I don’t want the abuse.

“But by not having a nose job I feel I’m being a role model. You shouldn’t have to resort to surgery so I am not having my nose done. I want to try to promote that we are all different and all have our own unique quirks.”
