‘I’m so terrified I have cancer’

- By Daisy Mclure

The 25-year-old This Morning presenter returned from a Barcelona minibreak with pals last week,

but behind the holiday fun, Ferne is masking the agony of living with a shock cancer scare. She reveals to Closer the moment she was confronted with her heartstopping health warning.

“I’ve had two moles removed on my face – one on the bridge of my nose and one in my nostril crease. What is scary is that the mole on the bridge came back so I had it lasered again but it returned more prominently.”

It was then that a terrified Ferne realised she needed a second opinion fast and she was advised to have a biopsy.

She says: “I’m having it completely cut out and checked that it’s not cancerous. It’s terrifying. I can’t stop thinking about it. But it’s better to be safe than sorry.”

Health risk

In the wake of the scare, Ferne has vowed to make changes to her lifestyle. After previously being a fan of sunbeds, which are proven to increase your skin cancer risk, she now insists she’ll be giving them up.

The star – who’s dating Essex lad Arthur Collins – adds: “I need to be so careful. That’s why I’ve completely ditched sunbeds. I know now how crucial sunscreen is.”

With this in mind Ferne has developed her own self-tanning range, under her debut Ferne Beauty brand. She says: “I wanted to create one that doesn’t smell of biscuits!”

Ferne is also honest about the cruel trolling she receives, especially about her nose, and how she’s learning to live with the critics.

She adds: “My nose has always been the one thing I’ve wanted to change but then I’ll wake up and think, ‘No, come on, just embrace it.’

“I’ve had some crazy online comments about my nose. I was at an event for the British UK Canoeing Society to encourage young people to get involved with outdoor activities and someone posted: ‘It looks like you’ve got a canoe on your face.’
