‘Wolf-whistling doesn’t make me feel sexy!’

Last week the #Nowomanever hashtag was trending on Twitter, with women highlighting the everyday sexism that they experience on the street. They Tweeted things like: “After dangling out of his car and wolf-whistling at me, I just knew I had to date him, said #Nowomanever.”

I find it really offensive if I’m walking down the street and some bloke beeps their horn at me. It doesn’t make me feel sexy, it makes me feel embarrassed – especially if I’m on my own. Who has ever actually wanted to go on a date with a man who’s shouted something at you on the street? I certainly don’t take it as a compliment, and don’t know anyone who ever has. It’s great to highlight behaviour like this, and I love anything that’s empowering women and has us standing up for ourselves.

Although, realistically, I don’t think viral things like this will ever put a stop to these unwanted comments, as it’s been going on for years. There was a story in the news last year about a woman who called the police after being heckled by builders on her walk to work every day for a month. That’s why hashtags like this are important: hopefully it will sink through to some people that this behaviour just isn’t OK. £700 On a pair of Sophia Webster heels. I’ve always wanted a pair of her shoes. They were so quirky I fell in love with them and couldn’t resist. £15 for a NARS lipliner. I was at the airport, so while I was there I stocked up on loads of nice make-up. £12 On fake tan, you always feel sexier with a glow and sunbeds are so bad for you!

Hailey Baldwin, 19

Catwalk queen Hailey puts on a very leggy display in this knockout gold mini by Kayat. The star positively glows with confidence in the figure-hugging number, which she teams with smokey-brown eye makeup and a tousled updo. This is a winning red-carpet look for Hailey – we’re dazzled.

With their outrageous champagne-swigging antics, drug-fuelled benders and bitchy put-downs,

Fabulous’ Eddie and Patsy have been the nation’s favourite shameless fashionistas since the hilarious show first hit our screens a whopping 24 years ago. But in a world away from their stand-offish rock ’n’ roll personas, when Closer catches up with Jennifer Saunders (Edina Monsoon) and Joanna Lumley (Patsy Stone) at London’s Soho Hotel for the launch of the fashionable glares have been swapped for friendly smiles.

“Would you like a cup of tea?” asks Joanna, 70, as we settle down for our interview, while 57-year-old Jennifer shows off her pet whippet, Olive, on the sofa. She giggles with a wink: “We’ve had an absolute blast making the film but, luckily, we’re nothing like our characters.”

Ahead of its release, we get a behind-the- scenes low-down of the film of the summer…

The movie follows Eddie and Patsy on the run after they accidentally push Kate Moss off a balcony into the Thames, thinking they’ve killed her. What was it like seeing her splashing around in the water?

She was glorious. In between takes she was kind of huddled in a blanket drinking a cup of tea in the middle of the Thames, but the second the camera goes on she’s like a goddess emerging from the water. Was it hard to convince her to be in the film? JEN: I’d written the film and had almost sold it when someone asked: “Has Kate signed up?” And I thought: “Oh no!” I just imagined she’d say yes so I hadn’t asked. I nervously sent her the script and got a text back, saying: “Love it.” That’s all you get from Kate: “Love it, yeah.” She’s a woman of few words! There’s an impressive line-up of celebrity cameos, including Dame Edna Everage, actor Jon Hamm, and models Lily Cole and Alexa Chung – did you all hang out on set? JEN: There was a great day when we were filming a big party scene, and after we finished Kate said: “I don’t want to go, I don’t want to go! I’ll see you in the pub!” So we all ended up having fish and chips together – it was so nice. My happiest moment filming was when I looked over and I had Stella Mccartney on my shoulder, with Lara Stone, Daisy Lowe, Alexa Chung, Suki Waterhouse, Jourdan Dunn and Kate Moss walking in. It was like a fantasy. Joanna, Jon Hamm plays a love interest of Patsy’s. Did you fancy him? JO: [Laughs] When you have someone like Jon Hamm on the set it’s not only me swooning, everybody is in bits. The make-up girls will go: “Oh, I’m just rinsing the brushes!” to get closer to him. JEN: He’s got a lot of charisma, but he’s very quiet and low-maintenance. There is something about him, though. He’s very well-groomed and he does scrub up well. Did anyone turn down the offer of a cameo? JO: Obama, I think. Is it true that Kim Kardashian makes a surprise appearance? JEN: [Shakes her head] No, that’s just internet rumours. She would never make it into one of my films. Do you feel reality stars like The Kardashians have changed showbiz? JEN: It’s a different beast now and I think the film reflects that Patsy and Eddie don’t survive quite as
