Insiders say Danniella Westbrook has reached out to help Stephanie Davis during her latest scandal
She hit the headlines S yet again last week when she was pictured drinking what looked like beer while pregnant – and now despite Stephanie Davis’ retort that she was only taking a “sip of her friend’s shandy” insiders say worried pal Danniella Westbrook has rushed in to help her weather the media storm.
The former Hollyoaks star, 23, who claims to be pregnant with ex Jeremy Mcconnell’s baby, suffered a barrage of online abuse despite her earlier claim that she was having “fresh orange” juice.
HITTING BACK
Stephanie Tweeted to defend her pub visit, then deleted her post, which said: “Hello it’s me, coz I’m pregnant it doesn’t mean I can’t go in a beer garden if I’m only drinking orange… I am allowed to sit in the sun with friends.”
A source says: “Steph was in floods of tears after the backlash. She feels like she’s reached rock bottom. She says she’s the subject of a constant tirade of abuse and she’s very lonely.”
Now pals say Danniella Westbrook, 42, who became friends with Stephanie after they both appeared on CBB in January, has told her she needs to sort her life out. Ironically Danniella – who has a history of drug addiction – was embroiled in her own scandal just days later when she was accused of performing a sex act on her boyfriend George Arnold, 24, in the back of a chauffeur-driven car. She hit back saying the reports were “full of lies.”
A source says: “Danniella has weathered her fair share of controversies and has remained in contact with Steph since they met on CBB. When she heard about her latest scandal she got in touch to offer her support.
“Danniella told Steph she’s always welcome to stay with her if she needs to – she understands what it’s like being criticised. She warned Steph not to make the same mistakes that she did – she knows how easy it is for things to slip out of control and she wants to be there for her. Steph reassured Danniella that she wasn’t going off the rails and was trying not to get too stressed, but she appreciated her support.”
PAST PROBLEMS
Stephanie was reportedly sacked from Hollyoaks last year after being deemed “unfit to work” and later admitted she had “been drinking too much.” The actress’ troubled personal life has continued to hit the headlines since she embarked on a toxic on/off relationship in January with fellow CBB housemate Jeremy, who doesn’t believe she’s carrying his child. The pair split and reunited numerous times before finally calling it quits in May.
Last week, Stephanie was in tears as she watched Danniella open up about her child abuse agony on Channel 5 show In Therapy, Tweeting: “Wow @westbrookdanni so true and honest, so relatable and real. Tears in my eyes. I love you.”
An insider adds: “Danniella just wants to help her friend avoid everything she went through. Stephanie has a huge amount of respect for her, so she’s agreed to listen and take her advice.”
