Mariah Carey’s husband-to-be James Packer begs her to tone down her diva behaviour
Ultimate pop diva U Mariah Carey made sure all eyes were on her as she partied up a storm in a very skimpy outfit in Las Vegas last week.
The 46-year-old singer wore just a leather jacket, a corset and a racy pair of suspenders as she arrived at the 1 Oak nightclub, before reportedly flirting with DJ Suss One after a few drinks.

But while she appeared to be having fun, insiders say that Mariah’s antics have been causing a rift between her and billionaire fiancé James Packer.
Insiders reveal that James, 48 – who has three children, Indigo, seven, Jackson, six, and Emmanuelle, three, with his second wife Erica – has become increasingly frustrated with Mariah’s attention-seeking behaviour and say it’s putting a strain on their relationship.
A source says: “James wants Mariah to start behaving more modestly in public and keep all the sexy stuff for behind closed doors. He cringes at what his family must think. It’s caused lots of rows between them because Mariah insists she’s just having fun and doing her job.”
Mariah, who’s mum to twins Moroccan and Monroe, five, with her ex-husband Nick Cannon, went public with her romance with James in June last year, after splitting from Nick following six years of marriage.
And while Mariah was pictured with James shortly before her performance last week, she hasn’t posted about her fiancé on her Twitter feed since April.
Now pals say her weight loss – she’s dropped from 13st to 10st over the past 12 months – has given her a new-found confidence.
A source explains: “Mariah doesn’t like James trying to change her, she’s feeling confident in her new shape and she wants to show off her body. James has asked her to be more conservative – he’s a serious businessman and can’t be seen as a joke – but they’re at a stalemate.”
WEDDING PLANS
The couple, who got engaged in January, are planning a summer wedding, but pals close to the singer say that James is considering postponing the nuptials.
A source says: “James talked about pushing the wedding back until the end of the year, which has made her panic that he’s getting cold feet. She’s been partying to take her mind off things, but it’s simply causing them to argue more. She obviously wants to make it work so they’ve agreed to spend some time together to talk things through.”
