Applied because he was “feeling down.” He says: “I’ve had other adventures – rowing the length of the Amazon and doing an 80km ice-skating race in Stockholm.”

TRAINEE YOGA INSTRUCTOR JASMINE, 24

Says she is quite active and “tries to rollerblade for six hours a day” (!). She adds: “My main concern is being warm, if I don’t have enough warm clothes I’m not going to do well!”

Has a wife, and says: “She’s not happy about it, but the project is just so me. I hope all the satellites fall from the sky, the oil reserves dry up and all the electricity pylons fall down…”
