Showing off S her minuscule waist in Fergie’s M.I.L.F.$ music video, which was released last week, Kim Kardashian easily overshadowed her co-stars, including models Chrissy Teigen and Alessandra Ambrosio, and singer Ciara.
But while all eyes were on the mum-of-two’s incredible curves, just hours after the footage was released, Kim was caught up in controversy after being accused of digitally enhancing her body.
The star hit back at critics, sharing behind-the-scenes footage on Snapchat, captioned: “F-kyophotoshop #Corsetlife M.I.L.F” and crediting her love of waist-training corsets for her tiny midriff.
LOST PERSPECTIVE
Friends say Kim, 35, has been increasingly insecure since having son Saint in December – and after her initial 4st weight loss she’s devastated that she’s not a size zero (UK size 4) yet.
A source says: “Kim was desperate to go to any length to outshine the others in the video and her pals wouldn’t be surprised if she’s put pressure on the video editors to make her body look as insane as possible.
“But friends fear she’s lost all perspective of her natural body because she’s so desperate to be desired and reclaim the body that made her a star. They’re worried that the pressures she’s putting on herself could destroy her confidence, but she’s told them she’ll achieve her dream body in whatever way possible. She’s humiliated that people are comparing and scrutinising her.”
CANCELLED PLANS
The size 8 star – who also has three-year-old daughter North with husband Kanye West, 39 – cancelled her Independence Day party plans on 4 July because she didn’t want to ruin her diet. Kim wrote on Snapchat: “Stayed home today because I couldn’t tempt myself. Two weeks crazy strict Atkins diet.”
The pal adds: “Despite being the lowest weight she’s been in years, Kim’s incredibly insecure about her looks and sobs almost daily about how desperate she is to be a size zero and get the same attention she used to get for her body. Kim made herself miserable with huge sacrifices in a bid to get in shape for the M.I.L.F.$ video that was filmed in May, but she still felt so insecure next to the other stars.”
Kim has struggled with her body image. She gained over 3st while pregnant with North and 4st with Saint, and was cruelly mocked online. And pals say the experience has left her obsessed about looking as slim as possible this time around.
The source says: “Kim’s body obsession has spiralled out of control and it’s got to the point where she refuses to even leave the house unless it’s work-related and bans anyone from visiting unless they’re prepared to exercise with her. She won’t even let people eat in front of her.
“Kim’s insecurity over her looks stems from Kanye, who she feels constantly scrutinises her body. Her body has changed a lot since having babies and she fears that she’s no longer attractive to him.”
DETOX WRAPS
As Closer previously reported, Kim has defied medical advice by having daily skinny shots – a blend of so-called fat-burning acids. Now pals say she has upped the ante and sleeps in detox body wraps, fasts for 17 hours at a time and survives on just 800 calories a day in addition to drinking laxative shakes.
A source says: “Friends are worried about Kim’s health as she’s been complaining of headaches, feeling shaky, dizzy and is showing physical effects of her twice-a-day workouts with back and knee pain. Her doctors have warned that she could do permanent damage to her health, but she’s determined to get to her goal weight.”
