They shot to fame sharing their dramatic lives on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, but at the core of the show was a very tight-knit family who knew how to have fun and laugh at themselves.
However, it appears the naturally likeable characters, who attracted millions of fans worldwide – netting over £150 million in the process – have become “divas,” with the main offenders being Kim, Khloé and their brother Rob.
Insiders reveal momager Kris Jenner has encouraged them to become increasingly volatile to boost flagging ratings, but pals say it could backfire and damage the already fragile family brand.
RUDE BEHAVIOUR
Kim, 35 – once known for her warmth and friendliness – has been lashing out recently, starting with actresses Bette Midler and Chloe Moretz on Twitter after they slammed her for posting a nude selfie in May.
More recently, the mum-
of-two started a war with pop star Taylor Swift, 26, after she claimed she hadn’t approved a Kanye West lyric about her.
Last week, new reports of Kim’s diva-like behaviour surfaced when Kanye’s longtime artistic collaborator, Vanessa Beecroft, revealed she’d been fired from his payroll by Kim, saying: “It was Kim Kardashian. She cut everything out.”
Insiders say it’s just the tip of the iceberg and Kim now thinks she’s “untouchable” and can behave how she wants.
A source says: “Kanye’s constantly telling Kim they’re the ultimate power couple and that she’s untouchable. She believes she’s above everyone now, pulling out of public appearances at the last minute, being late for everything, and never acknowledging staff or even tipping in restaurants.
“When she was trying to get pregnant with Saint, she made a film crew wait while she and Kanye had sex. Things are now at crisis point as her entourage are fed up with her behaviour.”
Changing personality
Khloé has always been the most fun-loving of the family, but after splitting from Lamar Odom in 2013 and losing almost 3st in a body overhaul, she’s also under fire for her changing personality.
Despite an initial rush of TV presenting offers, her chat show Kocktails With Khloé was axed after just three months – and recent reports have emerged of her rude and diva-like behaviour. She was even accused of being “extremely hard to work with” on the set of upcoming makeover show Revenge Body.
Khloé, 32, also reignited the family feud with teenager Chloe, who’s currently dating Brooklyn Beckham, last month by posting a snap she believed was Chloe exposing herself in her bikini bottoms – something actress Ruby Rose slammed Khloé for.
A source says: “Khloe’s stressed and miserable right now after realising her popularity is on the slide, and her reputation can’t handle another cancelled show. She’s put so much pressure on herself to maintain her new body that she’s exhausting herself in the gym, and since her split from Lamar is convinced everyone around her is just trying to piggyback on her fame.”
family ‘Circus’
Meanwhile brother Rob has also shocked fans with controversial behaviour. He distanced himself from his siblings in 2013 and retreated from the spotlight, but is back in the fold and filming his own reality show with Blac Chyna – who is pregnant with his child.
But last week Kourtney shared a shocking Snapchat video of Rob, 29, on the speakerphone to mum Kris, asking: “Why don’t you shove your d**k in my mouth?”
A source close to the family says Rob’s relationship with his mum is increasingly fragile as he resents the “circus” she’s turned their family into.
Even younger sibling Kylie Jenner, 19, has been acting up. In April she was heard warning a young fan “don’t touch me.”
Insiders say 60-year-old Kris is putting incredible pressure on her children to act as insane as possible and get attention after viewing figures for the family’s reality show plummeted to an all-time low – even Caitlyn Jenner’s spin-off I Am Cait was axed after just two seasons earlier this month.
A source says: “Kris has hammered home that their fame won’t last forever and uses Kim’s former BFF Paris Hilton as an example. She’s told them that the only way to stay relevant is to become successful standalone stars like model Kendall Jenner – who’s just landed the prestigious September issue cover of Vogue.
“Now they’re all acting like insecure fame-obsessed monsters to steal the most headlines. None of them are considering that their vile behaviour could end up destroying the Kardashian brand.”
