‘Spencer hasn’t tried it on with me’
Her on/off ex James “Arg” Argent failed to have success on the piste during The Jump last year, but former TOWIE star Lydia Bright tells Closer his experience convinced her to do the show.
Lydia, who celebrated her 27th birthday at The Jump's training camp in Innsbruck, Austria, earlier this month, says: “I came to visit James here and I was so jealous – I wanted to be a part of it. He loved the whole experience and he was buzzing for me. He said: ‘You’re going to have so much fun.’ My parents think it’s an amazing opportunity – it will be a challenge, but what an amazing thing to say you’ve done. And I thought, if my parents are backing me, I’ve got to go for it.”
And despite her co-star Spencer Matthews' reputation with the ladies, the reality star has ruled out any romance in the Alps. She says: “I’m single, but I’m not going to mingle out here. I’m not keen to find an Austrian man, but when I get back we’ll see. I’m not really desperate for it – I think, if it happens, it happens. There’s no one on the show – there aren’t many single people. Spencer is a Lothario, but he hasn’t tried it on with me. We just all get on really well as friends.”
