Jackson family panic: “We’re terrified of what Paris will do next”

- By Lily Smith

She stunned the world last week by claiming her pop legend father Michael Jackson was murdered and that she was sexually assaulted aged 14.

But since baring her soul in her first-ever interview, friends and family are now fearful 18-yearold Paris – who has attempted suicide multiple times – may be heading for another breakdown. “Paris has had countless rounds of therapy and her family are terrified of what could happen,” says an insider. “They feel that without proper supervision she’s a ticking time bomb.” In a shocking interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Paris insisted her father’s death was a “set-up” and that “all arrows” pointed to him being murdered. She added that “a lot of people” wanted him dead. Michael died in June 2009 and his personal doctor Conrad Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for Michael’s dependency on the anaesthetic propofol. He was sentenced to four years in prison in November 2011.

Shockingly, Paris also revealed she’d been raped at 14 by a “complete stranger,” and shot down rumours Michael was not her biological father. She also admitted she was once prescribed the same anti-depressants as him.

The insider adds: “Everyone close to Paris was shocked to see she’d given such a personal interview. Her brother Prince Michael agreed to be interviewed for the mag too because he’s worried about how Paris is conducting herself in the public eye. He feels protective of her.”

Prince, 19, admitted he doesn’t share all his sister’s views, explaining: “She is very emotional, to the point where she can let it cloud her judgment.”

However Paris says she’s tackling her issues by modelling, saying: “There’s a moment when I’m modelling where I forget about my self-esteem issues and focus on what the photographer’s telling me – and I feel pretty.”

But friends and family worry modelling could be risky for her mental health. “Her family has urged her to make sure she’s addressed her self-esteem issues before she puts herself out there,” says the source. “But she’s 18, she doesn’t listen to anyone.”

Another cause for concern for her family is her relationship with musician boyfriend Michael Snoddy, 26. As one of the heirs to the Michael Jackson Family Trust – worth more than $1 billion – insiders worry Paris is vulnerable.

“Paris has fallen head over heels for Michael but she can be a little naïve at times,” says the source. “Paris really needs to work through her emotional issues. Her family and friends have all agreed they’ll be watching her. Their hope is that it won’t come down to them needing to stage a family intervention.”
