Alicia Douvall: “My implants exploded and ruined my sex life”

She’s a self-confessed S plastic surgery addict, having splashed out £1million on more than 350 cosmetic procedures over the years. But former glamour model Alicia Douvall was left in agony when the £10k bum implants she’d had inserted in 2006 exploded in 2015, leaving her unable to lie down or sit still for longer than 20 minutes – and with silicone migrating around her body, which she revealed was “essentially killing me.”
Alicia, 37, revealed to Closer last year that she had felt agonising pain in her back and legs, and went for a scan to investigate the cause. She said: “My surgeon told me both of my buttock implants had completely ruptured. I was in total shock – I had no idea they could explode. I’m on medication, but I’m in pain the whole time. I know they need to be removed, but I’m worried the saggy skin will leave me looking deformed.”
Last week she spoke to Closer again, adding: “I still have the implants and I’m scared they could kill me.”
Alicia, who has sworn she won’t have any more surgery, also appeared on Loose Women last month, where she described the dilemma she was facing to either “take them out or have silicone in my body.”
She added that the implants had ruined her sex life, saying: “There are certain sex things I wouldn’t do because of my implants. I’m worried about them during sex. Men think [they’re] there for their pleasure, but it’s ‘Look but don’t touch.’”
Mum-of-one Heidi Faulkner, 37, from Cheshunt, Herts, had a bum lift in 2014. She says: “I lost 7st in three years with a gastric band and was left with saggy skin around my bum. I booked to have surgery in Prague as it was cheaper than in the UK and the company seemed reputable. But, after the two-hour op, I was left with two scars across my bum cheeks, which looked like shark bites. I asked the surgeons to correct it, but they said it would look better after the swelling had eased. It didn’t. Back home, I wanted to sue, but couldn’t afford it, then in July 2015, a surgeon offered to help me for free. I had fat from my hips and knees injected into my bum to pad it out. I’m happier, but I still lack confidence – and I hate the thought of being naked and my love life has suffered. I’d give anything to get my old bum back.”
