stars at risk from shocking mega bum trend
● Bottom augmentation is now the fastest-growing type of plastic surgery ● Sources say Iggy Azalea is feeling insecure after ‘lopsided’ bum pics emerge ● Plastic surgeon warns there are risks to creating a supersize bottom
Iggy Azalea has I become the latest celeb to reveal a misshapen bum while she was holidaying in Mexico last week with her rumoured boyfriend, music producer Ljay Currie.
The 26-year-old pop star – who’s sparked speculation in the past that she’s had bum implants after posting pictures of her super-curvy behind – was pictured with her rear covered in dimples and looking lopsided.
Now plastic surgeon Mark Ho-asjoe says it’s taking off all over the world. He says: “Bottom augmentation has become a global trend but it’s not without risks. There are a few ways to increase bum size. You can have implants, where you make a cut in the lower back, go in between the muscles and put the implant at the top. It creates the shelflook Blac Chyna has. The other way is injections – people used to be injected with a thicker version of face fillers, or you can have your own fat injected into the bum muscles.”
However, Mark warns that it’s a risky procedure. “Iggy may have had implants into the top of her bottom, which gives it a raised look, then fat injections into the bottom, which have unfortunately become dimpled. This happens when filler is injected too close to the surface of the skin. People have injections to smooth out cellulite, but it wears off and the skin which has been stretched sags. It can also become lumpy or form cysts.”
He adds: “And there’s always a small risk with implants. I’ve had people come to me for help after seeing a bad surgeon and an implant has leaked. Iggy’s work looks botched to me.”
SURGERY RUMOURS
Iggy, who has said she’s had both her nose and breasts surgically enhanced, remains tight-lipped about whether she’s had bum surgery. The singer was asked whether her bottom was real or fake on the MTV show Wild ‘N Out last August. Rather than deny the rumours, she curiously told them that “it’s real in your hands.”
Now insiders say Iggy, whose engagement to basketball player Nick Young, 31, ended when he cheated on her last year, is selfconscious. They say: “She’s had a lot of things done and some pals think she’s had implants, but she doesn’t like to talk about that part of her body. She can be insecure about her appearance.”
