Mario Falcone’s guest column

A leading sexologist recently hit the headlines claiming couples who regularly post gushing messages and pictures on social media “probably hate each other” and they’re just trying to get “likes” to validate their relationship. Well, that’s complete rubbish! I post a lot of pictures of me and my girlfriend [make-up artist Becky Miesner] because our relationship is the one thing in my life I’m most proud of. If you work hard and buy a watch or a car, you put it on your social media as you’re proud, and I think relationships are the same. I love and cherish Becky and I want to show off my relationship. It’s got nothing to do with seeking approval from others, it’s just nice to share your happiness – especially if you’ve been unlucky in love and you’ve finally snaps found someone! I don’t think that by posting pictures you’re trying to put on a front or hide an unhappy relationship. If you are in love and always having fun, then it’s nice to share that. I’ll never get sick of mates posting online photos of themselves and their partners, as it’s nice to see they’re happy. The

only people who will probably get annoyed at couples oversharing are the ones who’ve been burned in the past or are unhappy themselves!
