‘i hope Paris is baring all for the right reasons’
Paris Jackson recently defended a picture she posted on instagram of her sunbathing topless, after critics said the teen was being “too sexy” and it was “inappropriate.” Paris hit back, saying that being naked was a “beautiful thing” and she was just “going back to nature.” i think it’s brilliant if you’re confident in your own skin and want to go nude. But Paris, 18, has grown up in the limelight and has a big media presence, so why does she feel the need to show the whole world her body? it’s admirable that she’s saying she’s a feminist and there’s nothing wrong with showing her boobs, but i worry that it’s a cry for help. i don’t think many of us have a problem with being naked, but we also don’t feel the need to go on social media and prove that we’re happy with our bodies. saying that, i recently posed with my fellow Loose Women panellists in swimwear for a body confidence shoot. bared all in the shoot i’m 47 and was so nervous beforehand, but everyone’s used to seeing us all glammed up on TV, so we wanted to show that we’re all different shapes, sizes and ages with love handles and stretch marks and scars, but that we’ve all learned to accept our bodies. i know i’m not perfect – i’ve had a child and i like cake – but i’m fit and healthy. i love that women can choose whether to cover up or show off their body. i just hope that Paris is baring all for the right reasons.
