Lydia Bright:

“I love my shabby chic dining room”

-

THE DINING ROOM IS MY FAVOURITE ROOM. the

French doors open out to a little garden space, so it always feels sunny and light in there. i spend a lot of time working from home on my lifestyle blog and clothing site bellasorella. co.uk, so i’ll usually set myself up in the dining room as it’s away from any distractions. but it’s a social space too and i’ll have friends round for dinner in there. i actually designed the couch [pictured, left] myself at sofadesign.co.uk. it’s big and snuggly and it folds out into a bed for when i have guests.

I MOVED INTO MY TERRACED HOUSE OVER FIVE YEARS AGO.

i was a first-time buyer and had next to no money to decorate so i had to do everything really cheaply. over the years, i’ve updated the décor little by little and now i’m super happy with how it looks. i’m hoping i’ll be in this house for a while, so i’ve spent time finding the perfect pieces.

I’D SAY MY INTERIORS STYLE IS SHABBY CHIC. i like plenty

of light and fresh, white walls. i also have lots of vintage stuff and little trinkets that i’ve bought abroad. i do love the high street for home stuff too, though – homesense has some amazing pieces.

I LIKE TO HAVE FRESH FLOWERS AROUND THE HOUSE, and i’m a bit candle

obsessed. We actually created a scented candle range for bella sorella and i have them dotted all around. Live, Laugh, Love, Always, Lydia, by Lydia Bright is out from 15 June (Orion Spring, £16.99)
