Mark tells Michelle: “Stop worrying about Lucy”

and the unfairness of her being “subjected to such a storm.”

Controversial royal figure Paul Burrell, 59, who served as Princess Diana’s butler for 10 years and described himself as her “rock,” fears that Meghan, 36, has spoken out too soon about her romance.

Paul tells us: “Meghan is in a position where she can’t win, and she’ll learn that soon. Maybe it was a mistake for her to speak out so early. People are desperate to learn more about her, but if you open the door a tiny bit to your life, it’s hard to close it. Diana said the media was like a wild animal that she tried to tame but would always bite off her hand, and Meghan will learn that too.

“William and Harry are being a lot more public about sharing details of their life, but it’s a careful balancing act and Kate has never put a foot wrong.”

Royal expert Ingrid Seward agrees with Paul, saying: “Meghan’s decision to do an interview was bizarre. I don’t think it has done any good at all. It’s gone against Harry’s pleas for the press to keep their distance. She has made a joke of his statement and I think she has a tough time ahead. The younger generation like her because she’s different. But some people are very protective of the royals and would rather he marry an aristocratic English girl – but Harry is following his heart.”

Harry, 32, and Meghan met in June 2016 and dated in secret for several months before their relationship was revealed, with Meghan saying their privacy “is part of what makes it so special.”

ENGAGEMENT

Paul says he expects the pair will announce their engagement this autumn, but adds that despite Harry needing to ask for the Queen’s permission to marry, he suspects he will announce it on his own terms.

Kate, 35 – who’s mum to George, four, and Charlotte, two – confirmed her third pregnancy after cancelling an official engagement while suffering with severe morning sickness. The illness, which she endured in her previous pregnancies, prevented her from attending Prince George’s first day at school last week, with reports that she is just 11 weeks along.

Paul says: “I don’t think Kate would have announced her pregnancy so early if she hadn’t been ill, but it comes at a wonderful time. I expect her to have four children, and Harry to have a big family too. Nothing would make them happier than having big loving families.”
