Is Angelina secretly back with Brad?

Almost a year after their bitter split, it seems the superstar couple may be salvaging their relationship

They had what T seemed like one of the strongest marriages in showbiz, and Angelina Jolie has admitted that, one year on from her split with Brad Pitt, she hates being alone.

Speaking in a tell-all interview last week, Angelina, 42, revealed: “I don’t enjoy being single. It’s not something I wanted. There’s nothing nice about it. It’s just hard. Sometimes maybe it appears I’m pulling it all together, but really I’m just trying to get through my days. Emotionally, it’s been very difficult.”

FRESH START

Sensationally, just days after she spoke out, the couple were rumoured to be back together – less than 12 months after their dramatic break-up back in September last year, which sent shockwaves through the celebrity world.

Opening up about their meeting at a mutual friend’s house in Hollywood, the couple’s biographer, Ian Halperin claimed: “Brad took the first step forward, then they collapsed into each other’s arms.

“There were a lot of tears, nothing was left on the table. In that moment they decided to make a fresh start.”

The claims follow reports three weeks ago that the couple had called off their divorce, allegedly due to problems working out the details of their financial settlement.

Prior to their split, the pair were reported to have had a heated row on board a plane to LA. Brad, 53, was said to have flown into a drunken rage and clashed with their eldest son, 16-year-old Maddox – prompting Angelina to file for divorce. Brad was later cleared of abusing his son.

Angelina admitted in an interview with Vanity Fair in July that their relationship “became difficult” last summer, and that she’d suffered from Bell’s Palsy – which causes facial paralysis – over the stress of the split.

CO-PARENTING

The couple had since been arguing over custody of their children – Maddox, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 11, and nine-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne – but months later revealed they were planning to “co-parent.” Brad even joined them on a trip to Cambodia in February so they could both spend time with their kids.

During their 12 years together the pair survived a number of major stresses, including Angelina’s diagnosis with the BRCA1 gene, which increases your risk of cancer. This led to her undergoing a double mastectomy in 2013 and having her ovaries removed in 2015, leading to early menopause.

Brangelina’s biographer Ian added that a spiritual counsellor had helped them get their marriage back on track, working to “consciously recouple” them through sessions and intensive rehab.

“It was toxic, but both of them realise they are happier together than apart,” said Ian. “Once they cleared the air between them, things improved. They can’t live together but they can’t live apart. She’s worked hard on herself since the plane incident, and so has Brad. They’re still in love.”
