ARIEL OPENS UP ABOUT HER ‘SEXUALISED’ CHILDHOOD
She was a child star who rose to fame as loveable Alex Dunphy on the TV hit Modern Family, but actress Ariel Winter has revealed yet more disturbing details of her “really rough” upbringing. Ariel – who’s been with actor boyfriend Levi Meaden, 30, since December last year and moved in with him after just six months of dating – has previously spoken out about being “physically and emotionally abused” as a child, which led to her elder sister Shanelle Workman becoming her legal guardian in 2014.
But in sensational new claims, the 19-year-old actress says her estranged mum, Crystal Workman, sexualised her, and from the age of seven dressed her in “the smallest miniskirts, sailor suits, low-cut things, and the shortest dresses you’ve ever seen.” She also alleged she was placed on a diet, saying her food was “very, very restricted.”
The star said: “People thought I was 24 when I was 12. If there was going to be a nude scene when I was that age, my mother would have a thousand per cent said yes.”
Her mum denies the claims, saying she “never abused Ariel in any way.”
Ariel hit the headlines in 2015 when she had a breast reduction, going from a 32F to a 34D after years of back pain, and has since hit back at critics after being pictured out in a series of skimpy outfits, with the teen saying: “I’m not a wh*re because I wear shorts and tank tops. I’m a normal girl.”
