TORN COLEEN
Their nine-year T marriage has taken a knock after yet another scandal. And last week Coleen Rooney showed little sign that she was ready to forgive husband Wayne after she was snapped without her £250,000 wedding ring.
The 31-year-old is reported to be “absolutely raging” at her husband following his arrest for drink-driving behind the wheel of another woman’s car.
After Wayne, 31, allegedly “kissed and cuddled” single mum-of-one Laura Simpson following a boozy night out with fellow footballers in Cheshire earlier this month, Coleen was forced to cut short her holiday with their sons, Kai, seven, Klay, four, and 18-month-old Kit.
And pals say Coleen, who is pregnant with the couple’s fourth child, is still in limbo over their future. A source reveals: “As much as she’s threatening to leave Wayne, the reality is that divorce isn’t really an option. “Her parents are devout Catholics and, despite everything, she wants to protect her sons and keep her family together. The boys adore Wayne and splitting up the family to become a single mum is the last option for her, especially with another baby on the way. She knows her boys would find it hard to understand, and she wants to put them first.”
Last week Laura appeared on This Morning to talk about the incident and insisted she’d “done nothing wrong” and sympathised with Coleen.
She said: “I basically said to give me a call and I’ve told her [Coleen] everything that I’ve told you. I said nothing happened. I don’t feel like I’ve done anything wrong other than the fact we got in the car together.”
She added: “I do regret the damage it’s causing but I don’t think I deserve everything I’m getting.” When asked whether she felt Coleen should “forgive and forget,” she said: “I don’t think he deserves… i wouldn’t do that to my partner.”
A source says: “As mad as she is with Wayne, Coleen is putting his exploits down to stupidity. She doesn’t think he’s cheated.”
RELATIONSHIP RULES
Coleen, who’s known Wayne since she was 12, has stood by him through a string of scandals, including in 2004 when it was revealed he had slept with prostitutes, and again during her pregnancy with Kai in 2009.
Sources say she is now demanding that Wayne ask his club Everton for “sympathetic leave” so they can work on their marriage, and has laid down new rules in a bid to save their relationship.
The source says: “Coleen has told him no more nights out. She’s stopped short of a full ban on drinking because she feels that’s too far – but she does think that Wayne ends up in trouble when he’s had one too many.
SETTING AN EXAMPLE
“There is also the chance that he may have to have counselling as part of his deal with the club and the courts over the drink-driving. Coleen is keen for him to use this counselling to address issues in their relationship too – she feels the same mistakes are being made over and over again and they need to break the cycle if they are to survive this.”
Sources reveal Coleen has also asked Wayne to prioritise family time. A source says: “She’s told

him things have to change for their marriage to survive. He now has to get involved with the school runs and take the boys to sports. Kai loves golf, so Coleen wants Wayne to take him to the driving range more often, and to do something separate with each of the boys when he can.
“She wants Wayne to set an example of being a family for the boys and the new baby. She’s told him that he must be around for family meal times.
“She wants him to be fully immersed in family life and move away from the partying and gambling culture that is rife among some footballers.”
Reports recently claimed Wayne, who blew £500k on a two-hour betting spree earlier this year, had vowed to stop partying – if his wife agreed to cut back on holidays.
FEELING LONELY
Now our source says: “Wayne thinks she goes away too much and insists that when the house is empty he ends up getting into trouble. While she isn’t in the mood to make any changes for Wayne, she’s agreed in principle that they should aim to spend more time together.”
Wayne was due to appear in court this week and pals say Coleen is still feeling confused and lonely. The source says: “She’s finding it hard to even look at Wayne at the moment but, ultimately, she wants them to get back to a good place.”
