FEARS FOR KERRY OVER HER NEW BAD BOY
She was seen S kissing new boyfriend James English for the first time in public last week, just three months after her bitter split from third husband George Kay.
The public display of affection, closely followed by a cosy Instagram pic of the pair, which she captioned with two heart-eyes emojis, come days after sources told Closer that Kerry Katona was regularly travelling to Scotland to visit her boyfriend, who is a comedian and appeared on the Scottish version of TOWIE, called Glow.
Disturbingly, details soon emerged of James’ chequered past – he was reportedly pals with gangster Euan “EJ” Johnston, who was gunned down last year, and pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman in a Mcdonald’s diner in 2015.
And insiders reveal that Kerry’s pals are concerned James could be with the star for fame. A source says: “James has already shown an interest in a showbiz career, so her pals are worried he could capitalise on things with Kerry to help raise his profile. She’s reassured friends that James isn’t fame hungry but, naturally, they are worried as they fear she’s vulnerable following her split from George. But she’s just besotted with him and revelling in all the attention he’s giving her.”
TURBULENT LOVE LIFE
Kerry, 37, has famously been drawn to bad boys in the past. After splitting from Brian Mcfadden in 2004, with whom she has daughters Molly, 16, and Lilly-sue, 14, she went on to marry ex-taxi driver Mark Croft in 2006. The couple had two children – Heidi, who is now 10, and Max, nine – but split in 2010 over Kerry’s alleged affair with personal trainer Kevin Green.
After the break-up, Kerry – who has bipolar disorder– revealed she’d been struggling with a cocaine addiction during her marriage to Mark, and he later admitted he sold stories on her. He also avoided jail in 2015 after he was arrested over running a £50,000 cannabis farm from his home.
Kerry got together with ex-convict George in 2013 and went on to have a daughter with him, Dylan-jorge, now three. But they split in October 2015 after 13 months and Kerry appeared in court accusing him of beating her up and arming himself with a stun gun. He was later acquitted due to a lack of evidence and the pair reunited for over a year before calling it quits in June.
A source close to Kerry tells us the star believes her new man is better than George. The pal says: “Kerry is besotted with James. She’s been driving hundreds of miles to see him, and is even hoping to spend Christmas with him.”
MOVING ON
Kerry is renowned for never staying single for long and it seems her latest romance is no exception. The source adds: “She’s been spending most of her time on the phone to James and has fallen head over heels. His background is worrying her close friends, but it isn’t stopping Kerry – she keeps saying how he’s so much better than George.”
