My day in style
From her high-street wardrobe to her lunches with the Loose Women team, presenter Andrea Mclean, 48, talks us through her day
‘HAVING A STYLIST MAKES ME MORE ADVENTUROUS’
6AM: My alarm goes off and I always hit snooze. After, I jot down my goals for the day to give me a positive mindset. I avoid checking my phone as I hate being caught up in other people’s nonsense before my day has begun! My fiancé Nick [Feeney] usually brings me a cup of tea in bed. 7:30AM: I always plan my outfits the night before. I mostly wear high street – Matalan, Zara and Topshop. On Loose Women we have a stylist, which inspires me to be more adventurous. I’m wearing lots of prints at the moment. 9AM: I never leave the house without my trusty Lululemon rucksack. It’s packed with all my essentials, including Santal 33 perfume, Nurture Replenish moisturiser, lip balm, a comb and paracetamol. I’ll head to the studio a couple of hours before filming. I catch the train to work – I love being among other commuters, people watching. If I’m not working, I’ll exercise. I sometimes have a personal trainer, but I have a great yoga app on my phone, so whenever I have a spare five minutes I’ll do some yoga. 2PM: For lunch, I’ll grab a salad from Pret a Manger. Sometimes, all the Loose Women go out together, but it’s never anywhere fancy – our go-to place is usually Pizza Express or the staff canteen. 4PM: When I get in from work, I tie up my hair and change into comfy clothes. Poor Nick only ever sees me when I’m in my pyjamas! 5PM: Dinner is usually salmon and vegetables, with added ginger, garlic and chili for extra flavour. I’m obsessed with seafood so, for date nights, Nick and I head to Galvin at Windows at the Hilton Hotel on Park Lane – the food is amazing. 8PM: I love spending quality time with my family during the evening [Andrea is mum to Finlay, 15, and Amy, 11, from a previous relationship]. Most nights I chill out on the sofa watching TV. I’ve just finished watching Big Little Lies. My dog [a labrador called Jackson] always comes in for cuddles, too. If I’m heading out, I’ll glam up by wearing a classic LBD and heels. 9PM: Before I’m about to get into bed, I end up finding a million things to do! I always make time to remove my make-up using Simple face wipes and a Liz Earle facial toner afterwards.
