Strictly’s katya

-

How much do you spend a week? My husband [dancer Neil Jones] and I are away a lot touring with Strictly so our meals are provided. When we’re at home, we only buy groceries for one meal so we don’t waste food. We can spend anything between £30 and £50 a week. Describe your daily diet... Breakfast is either porridge with honey or berries, or poached eggs with avocado and salmon. The catering on the Strictly tour is amazing, so lunch can be something like baked fish with salad or salmon teriyaki. I often skip dinner if I’m on tour as I can’t dance on a full stomach but, at home I’ll have lamb with quinoa or couscous, or a bunless chicken burger. I also snack on nuts and fruit. Is there anything you refuse to eat? I don’t eat apples because they give me a poorly stomach, and I try to stay away from junk food like crisps, too. What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever eaten? I love food, so I’ll give anything a try. When I went to China I ate snake and pigs’ feet. I loved it all! What would you cook to impress someone? I’d make individual beef Wellingtons and pancakes with bacon and cheese for Neil.

Hangover cure?

I don’t drink often, but I’d usually have a burger from Five Guys – delicious!
