As the star is rumoured to appear on I’m A Celeb!, pals say she’s hoping to settle old scores with her TOWIE rival
“I’ll get my own back on Lucy in the jungle!”
She’s been teasing S fans that she’ll be jetting out to the Australian jungle for the next series of I’m A Celeb!. Now pals say Lauren Goodger is hoping to use the opportunity to dish out some revenge on former TOWIE co-star Lucy Mecklenburgh, by getting close to her partner Ryan Thomas, who’s also rumoured to be joining her Down Under.
Pals say Lauren, 31, has been waiting to get her own back on Lucy, 26 – whose rumoured fling with her on/off boyfriend of ten years, Mark Wright, 30 – caused fiery run-ins on the show.
The warring pair continued their spats off camera, with Lauren branding Lucy and Mark’s relationship as “fake”, which led Lucy to go on an angry Twitter tirade in 2013, telling fans, “Lauren made my life hell.”
Now insiders tell Closer how Lauren – who split from her jailbird beau, Joey Morrison, this summer – is plotting payback.
A source says, “Lauren’s never got over Lucy’s ‘affair’, as she called it, with Mark, and has held a grudge ever since. As soon as she saw Ryan was rumoured to join her in the jungle, she saw it as an opportunity to give Lucy a taste of her own medicine. She’s got no serious plans to steal Ryan, but she would like Lucy to realise how humiliating it felt for her when she was linked to Mark.
Lucy has been dating the former Corrie star, 33 – whose brother Adam came third in last year’s series – since filming Bear Grylls’ Celebrity Island together earlier this year. Lucy has even reportedly met Ryan’s nine-yearold daughter, Scarlett, from his relationship with former Corrie co-star, Tina O’brien.
Last month, Lucy was forced to deny rumours she and Ryan had split, after he confirmed he was relocating to Australia for a role in Neighbours.
And despite pals warning Lauren she’s playing with fire, she insists it’s time to put herself first. The source says, “Lauren’s sick of watching everyone else in happy relationships, while she’s single. She’s seen how close people get when they’re thrown into the jungle together and hopes there are some hot men on the show this year so she can meet her Mr Right.”
