MEL FINALLY FACES DIVORCE TRIAL

She’s had one of the most toxic break-ups in Hollywood, with allegations of violence, money issues and threesomes. And this week, Mel B is finally due in court to begin divorce proceedings from husband Stephen Belafonte, eight months after they announced their split.

The case has been held up several times, and last week a judge insisted there would be “no more delays” and even threatened Mel, 42, with jail after she missed a court date while she was in Australia filming an advert.

The couple have made explosive accusations against each other, with Mel claiming that her ex drugged her, was physically abusive and threatened to release sex tapes of her.

She also accused Stephen – father of her five-year-old daughter Madison – of having an affair and impregnating their nanny Lorraine Gilles – who is now attempting to sue Mel for £1.6m for defamation.

In another twist, the former Spice Girl’s financial situation was laid bare in June, when it was revealed she’d frittered her multi-million pound fortune on a lavish lifestyle and had just £961 left in one of her company accounts. In July, a judge ordered her to pay Stephen £30,500 a month in spousal support.

But despite her financial and marital stress, Mel looked calm and collected when she stepped out for dinner in LA last week, just days before her trial was set to begin.
