Humiliated Michelle: “I’m not sure how much more I can take”
After Mark Wright is linked to another woman on a boozy night out, wife Michelle Keegan has had enough
He’s been partying H with his new Hollywood pal Mario Lopez in both London and Essex, and Mark Wright was forced to deny anything “untoward” happened after he was snapped with a “mystery brunette”, who he later explained was his friend’s girlfriend.
But insiders tell Closer the stories about Mark – who was seen downing shots of tequila and documented his boozy antics on social media – left his wife Michelle Keegan, 30, humiliated, saying she’s sick of the constant rumours about the state of their marriage. The actress recently returned to the UK, but is keeping a low profile.
TOWIE REPUTATION
A source says, “Michelle hated seeing the pictures of Mark out drinking with girls around him. She knows it was innocent and of course she trusts him, but she’s angry about all the speculation surrounding them.
“It’s just not a good look in her opinion. He’s a married man and trying to build a career as a serious TV presenter, and it’s frustrating to see him looking like he’s living up to his old TOWIE Lothario reputation.
“It was a lads’ night out and was being filmed for his TV show Extra, so Michelle decided to stay home, but seeing the reports the next day made her furious.”
Mark later took to Twitter, saying, “In our current society can men not speak to women aside from their wife without
people insinuating something untoward is happening?”
The pair have spent months apart from each other this year, after Mark relocated to LA in September to co-host entertainment show Extra, while Michelle has been abroad for months filming Our Girl.
TENSION BREWING
Mark defended rumours of a rift last week, saying in an interview, “We speak 20 times a day [on the phone]” and calling her “the most special person in the world to me.”
But as Closer reported last week, insiders say there has been tension between the pair after Mark set up a string of meetings with TV companies in LA. According to insiders, Mark is hoping to secure a US reality show for the Wright family, and attended a string of showbiz parties with his parents and sisters Jessica, 32, and Natalya, 17, recently.
Sources say Mark and Michelle – who tied the knot in a lavish £1m ceremony in 2015 – are working hard to strike a balance to make their relationship work.
The source says, “Michelle knows Mark loves going out and is always the centre of attention, and he would never stop that. But she hates the drama that comes with it, so he’s vowed to be more careful. They’re determined to spend quality time together at Christmas.”
