Tina: “I’ve hit rock bottom – I can’t lose my daughter too”
Following her arrest and revealing she’s estranged from her eldest child, pals fear for Tina Malone
Just days before J Christmas, Tina Malone was arrested and cautioned for being in possession of cocaine while performing at a pantomime. And last week the actress, 54, did an explosive interview with a paper claiming that the drugs had been planted on her, adding that her “life had been ruined” by the scandal.
During her interview, Tina – who is married to toyboy Paul Chase, 35, with whom she has Flame, four – also confessed she is no longer on speaking terms with her eldest daughter Danielle, 36, adding on Facebook, “My daughter now hates me and believes I am a drug addict.”
HUMILIATED
Pals reveal Tina is absolutely devastated that her relationship with Danielle has deteriorated.
A source says, “Tina was humiliated by the arrest, she’s still in shock. She’s hit rock bottom and has told friends she can’t lose her daughter on top of everything else. Tina and Danielle have always had their differences, but they were very close. Danielle was her only child for over 30 years, before she had Flame aged 50 through IVF in 2013, and even though they’ve had their ups and downs, they’ve always made up quickly. But she’s worried they won’t be able to come back from this.”
Just 18 months ago, Closer did a photo shoot with the pair, alongside Flame and Danielle’s daughter, Dorothy, one. At the time Tina hinted at previous problems with Danielle saying, “We were really close when she was growing up, but I know she found it difficult when Paul and I got together. He’s a year younger than she is and that does take some getting used to.”
While Danielle added, “When Mum met Paul, it took me a while to get used to them being together, but we get on just fine now. But when Mum decided she was going to have another baby I was really shocked. I felt she was too old for it.”
But it seems the relationship has since badly soured. Our insider says, “Tina is heartbroken. And while Danielle would never stop Tina from seeing her granddaughter, they live at opposite ends of the country so Tina knows, if she’s not speaking to Danielle, she probably won’t see Dorothy, either.”
ANXIETY FEARS
The star – who’s undergone a dramatic surgery overhaul over the past few years, dropping to a size 6 – has been open about her struggle with her mental health in the past, admitting to suffering with depression and anxiety. And friends are growing increasingly concerned about her.
The source says, “She’s so down and everyone just wants to help her. But with her history of anxiety, her friends are worried she’s going to get into an even darker place.”
Our source says Tina hopes a reconciliation with Danielle will ease her pain – and that she’s keen to move on and make the best of this year, despite what she’s been through.
The source adds, “She’d love nothing more than to make up with Danielle. It breaks Tina’s heart that they’re not speaking, especially when things are so hard for her. She prays they can work out their differences soon. She just wants to put the past few weeks behind her and move on.”
