‘I go to the gym every evening’

-

I’M NOT A GREAT SLEEPER. I TOSS AND TURN FOR HOURS AND PREFER TO WAKE UP EARLY. Ideally, my alarm wakes me up at 5.45am. My daughter, Honey, stays with her dad during the week as it’s closer to

Getting in shape her school, so the first thing I do is go to

with some boxing the gym or for a run. I exercise regularly as it helps with my mental health – running is one of my favourite things. I’M BACK AT HOME BY 8AM, and I’ll call Honey for a catch-up. We speak all the time and I love knowing what’s going on in her life. After that, I’ll have egg whites and Ryvita for breakfast. IN THE MORNINGS, I make time to read. Honey buys me a lot of books and I’m trying to read two a month. I’ve just finished Emily Oliphant Is Completely Fine, which was amazing. I also do a lot of charity work and I’m currently working with Cancer Research. I’LL HAVE LUNCH AT AROUND 1PM. There’s a café near to my house where I have Marmite on toast – they bought a jar just for me. I TRY TO SPEND ALL AFTERNOON WRITING MY MEMOIR. I don’t use a computer – I’m writing it by hand. A lot has happened in my life, so I’m not short of a story or two. But I get so easily distracted. IN THE EVENING, I TRY TO GO TO THE GYM AT AROUND 6.15PM. I like to squeeze in a spinning class and a swim. After that, I call Honey and make myself dinner, usually smoked fish and salad. I’ll go to bed at 9pm, but I’ll watch a few episodes of Saved before I try to sleep. Gail had her eyebrows tattooed by Karen Betts. Visit Karenbetts.com
