Lauren: “I’m so worried about Joey and other women”
As her jailbird boyfriend Joey Morrison prepares for life as a free man, pals say Lauren Goodger is worried he might stray
Ever since news E broke that her on-off boyfriend Joey Morrison would be released early from his 16-year prison sentence for a string of violent offences, Lauren Goodger has been excitedly preparing for their new lives together. But while he finishes up his nineyear stint behind bars, pals say Lauren, 31, is beginning to worry that other women will be chasing after Joey, also 31 – especially now that she’s helped to turn him into a minor celebrity, thanks to her Instagram posts and mentions in interviews.
A pal says, “Lauren has been so excited about Joey’s release. But she’s starting to worry that after spending so much time locked up, he’s not going to want to settle into a relationship straight away and will be out with the lads making up for lost time. And inevitably, there’ll be other women on nights out approaching him. She trusts him, but Essex is a small place and she knows there are going to be so many other girls from his past wanting to catch up. Lauren feels quite insecure about it – she can’t help worrying about other people.”

Lauren and Joey began dating in 2016, then split in September last year after 15 months together, with her struggling to handle the pressure of being in a relationship with a prisoner.
It’s since been revealed that Joey is no stranger to celebrity girlfriends, having dated TOWIE’S Billi Mucklow before his arrest. He’s also been linked to reality star Lauren Pope – although she denies it – as well as former glamour models Danielle Lloyd and Bianca Gascoigne. Rowland, who is now dating the brother of former TOWIE star Amy Childs. The pal adds, “Suddenly, Lauren is worried that other girls are going to want a piece of him when he leaves prison for good. She’s scared that he might even want to get back in touch with some of his exes to catch up. She knows a few of them are happily settled in new relationships and trusts all the girls that she’s friends with, but she can’t help feeling anxious and she realises that a lot of it is down to her insecurities. Lauren has been badly burned in the past by the men in her life and that’s always haunted her.”
Pals say Lauren – who has had breast implants, a nose job, lipo, Botox and fillers, and last week showed off her impressive curves in a red lingerie set on a photo shoot – is going all-out to look super sexy for Joey to ensure she keeps his attention.

The friend says, “Lauren loves looking sexy, especially for Joey. She’s been working hard at the gym on her bottom to give herself Kim Kardashian-style curves and loves showing them off. She thinks the sexier she looks, the more she’ll be irresistible to Joey and keep his interest exclusively on her.
“She’s also trying to make some really exciting plans for them in the showbiz world so that they get to spend time together when he comes out of prison.”
Lauren’s turbulent relationship with former fiancé and TOWIE co-star Mark Wright, 31, was plagued by rumours that he was cheating on her, and in 2011, she had proof when Lucy Mecklenburgh, 26, admitted she’d got close to Mark while they were still engaged.
Just last month, Lauren was forced to deny that Joey had turned to dating app Bumble after leaving prison on temporary release, as a profile emerged using his picture and claiming to be him. She wrote, “Joey is not on any dating apps. These fakes were set up a long time ago and there is also one on Tinder”.
The friend adds, “After Mark cheated on Lauren, it broke down her self-confidence so much that she still thinks it could happen to her again. She trusts Joey and she wants to make sure she gives him his space to reconnect with his family and friends. But she sometimes feels paranoid that something will go wrong when it comes to having her own happy ending.”
