My view on...

- By Jane Oddy ● Denise is rehearsing for a nationwide tour of Calendar Girls The Musical. See Calendargirlsthemusical.com for info

MY SONS: “They are amazing. Motherhood is my greatest joy. Matty (The 1975 frontman) is writing his third album and they start touring next year, so he has his head down. Louis has done a film with the actor Bill Nighy and he’s currently filming an episode of Vera. I’ve done many things wrong, but I’ve brought up two fabulous children. They’re both level-headed and kind.”

LOOSE WOMEN: “In the main, I’ve had a lovely and positive response to coming back. I tend not to read the bad stuff. The girls have been glorious. I left five years ago for reasons that were relevant then, and I’ve come back because it feels like a good time in my life. However, I am going on tour for nine months so whether I wanted to or not, I am not going to be able to do loads of shows but, hopefully, I can do a few here and there on the tour.”

LOVE ISLAND: “It is a massive guilty pleasure for me at the moment and I’m an obsessive watcher. Huge. I can’t cope if I can’t see it or tape it. My boys wouldn’t want to go on it, though, but they enjoy watching it.” while to find my way back and, with Lincoln, I did find my way back, so I cherish the wonderful marriage we have. That’s due to our sobriety. It’s never too late to turn your life around. If I can do it, anyone can.”

IN CONTROL

She adds, “When I see 60 written down, I can’t believe it’s my age. At 60, I genuinely feel better than I did at 50 and at 40. Physically, I feel better, because I’ve taken all the bad stuff out of my life and I don’t drink or smoke any more. I eat as healthily as I can – although I am a Geordie and I still love fish and chips – but I have learned not to be obsessed by food and I am in control. I have bumps and cellulite and my boobs aren’t where they should be, but I’m OK – I’m happy!”
