AMBER DAVIES: ‘It’s so easy for things to fizzle out’

Amber Davies found love with Kem Cetinay during her time in the Love Island villa last year and the pair went on to be crowned the show’s winners. But the romance soon struggled on the outside and they split just five months later.

Speaking to Closer, Amber, 21, urges this year’s contestants to not make the same mistakes.

She explains, “While you’ll have the most amazing opportunities, it’s hard to spend a lot of time with a partner. And time is so precious because if you don’t see each other, it’s so easy for things to fizzle out. Me and Kem got booked for club appearances but we’d rarely work together, so often we’d be at opposite ends of the country. While I knew Kem’s head would never be turned, the fact we were miles apart meant we hardly saw each other. The new couples need to be prepared for their schedules to keep them apart and also need to ensure they make time for each other whenever they can.”

But Amber insists Dani Dyer and boyfriend Jack Fincham won’t struggle, believing the fans’ favourite couple are completely genuine.

She says, “Dani has absolutely nothing to worry about. Jack’s head won’t be turned at the PAS, he’s only had eyes for her from day one, so there’s no chance that they’ll suffer because of that. They just have to make sure that they don’t let work get in the way. What I’ve learnt is that if something is meant to be, it will be. Kem and I weren’t so our romance fizzled.”

She adds, “It’s hard having the country invested in your relationship. It’s strange! But if it’s not working out, be true to yourselves and end it. Don’t feel pressured to stay together for the sake of fans.” ● Bluebella x Amber is available at Bluebella.com
