Eyal: ‘It’s annoying to follow around a girlfriend taking pics’

LOVE ISLAND STAR EYAL BOOKER, 22, TELLS CLOSER,

“Oversharing photos of your relationship or your life can be really annoying. I can see how it can have the potential to ruin things when boyfriends have to follow their girlfriends around and take their photos – it can intrude on the romance and lead to negative feelings.

“I like taking a nice photo and, obviously, I’m happy to take one of a girlfriend, but it shouldn’t become an obsessive thing. Life is bigger than just social media.

“I’m a model, but when I dated another model we both understood the importance of taking a good photo of each other with a nice backdrop – but it was a joint effort. She’d take a photo of me then I’d do the same for her. I would never spend hours searching for the perfect shot to take of my girlfriend. People get so caught up with this Instagram life.

“At the end of the day, Instagram is an incredible platform, but we’ve got to take it with a pinch of salt. It tends to show the best version of our lives, but it isn’t reality and you’ve still got to be true to yourself. You need to show your victories as well as your defeats. I think if your partner’s Instagram obsession gets too extreme, you need to put your foot down and say you won’t be their photographer any more.” ● Eyal stars in Celebs Go Dating, returning to E4 later this year
