After her ex Ant Mcpartlin is pictured on a double date, Lisa Armstrong is determined to move on
She was left S devastated when her estranged husband Ant Mcpartlin’s romance with PA and former friend Annemarie Corbett was exposed last month. But after jetting to LA to recover from her heartache, Lisa Armstrong looked the picture of happiness as she was spotted soaking up the Californian sunshine.
REVENGE MAKEOVER
Insiders recently revealed to Closer that the make-up artist – who has dyed her pink hair blonde – was plotting a revenge makeover, and last week she marked her fresh start by getting a tattoo of dog paws and a matching symbol of strength on her wrist.
Just days earlier, Lisa, 41, had been rocked by new photos of Ant, 42, on a double date with Anne-marie alongside his best friend Declan Donnelly and his pregnant wife, Ali Astall.
But insiders say the pictures only made Lisa more determined to move on and find her happy ending. A source says, “While Lisa knew the time would eventually come for Ant and Anne-marie to start socialising publicly with their friends, it was understandably hard for her to see. She was dreading the moment but, despite the pain, it also gave her the push to move on. She doesn’t want to dwell on the past any more. She’s got friends out in LA and her parents, who have flown out to spend time with her, have been an amazing support. She’s feeling positive and excited about the future.”
CUTTING OFF PALS
Ant announced the end of his 11-year marriage to Lisa in January and later went public with Anne-marie – who was once a friend of Lisa’s. At the time, insiders claimed Dec had reached out to Lisa – who stands to make a reported £31m from her divorce settlement – by text, telling her to “be strong”. But sources say Lisa now feels she needs to cut off her and Ant’s mutual friends to protect herself from future heartache.
The source says, “As much as Lisa still loves all the friends they share, especially Dec and Ali, she feels she only wants her oldest friends and family in her life right now. She worries staying close to mutual friends might only serve as a reminder of Ant and the split. She doesn’t want to stay in that negative place.”
Closer recently revealed how Lisa’s LA makeover was part of her plan to start moving on and she was opening herself up to the possibility of dating again.
The source adds, “Lisa’s considering breaking her silence once the divorce has been finalised, so she can respond to all the painful rumours that have been going around since they broke up. But for now, she’s simply trying to take steps to help her move on with her life and look towards the future with a positive mindset.”
