‘MEN DON’T HAVE TO EAT MEAT’

-

It’s extraordinary that research has found British men are afraid to choose a vegetarian option in a restaurant for fear of being socially shunned. If I go out with my male friends, we’ll go for a steak dinner because we all like meat, but if we were going for lunch, and not at a meat restaurant, it might be different. If I fancied a vegetable risotto, I’d feel totally comfortable ordering that, and I wouldn’t feel that I may not be considered “masculine” by doing that in front of my friends. I just choose food that I like the sound of, and I sometimes go to a restaurant and think the vegetarian option sounds really delicious and interesting, so that’s what I go for.
