HANDLING GRIEF “If it’s not hurting you or anyone else, then it’s the correct journey to take. There are no rules. I left Steve’s things intact because it was comforting to me. A colleague did the same after his daughter died, and people would say he needed to pack up her things or he’d never have closure. Well, you’ll never have closure anyway. You don’t wake up one morning and say, ‘I don’t miss them any more’.”

SINGLE PARENTING “I’m blessed with a couple of great kids. But it can be challenging, and we have a really good group of people around us. We should all reach out when we need help and not be ashamed – it really does take a village.”

SOCIAL MEDIA “It’s a wonderful opportunity to get your message out to a lot of people, but it’s something you need to just be mindful of. We are very proactive with managing things. Any social media that’s negative never gets addressed – I tactfully ignore it all!”
