BIG DECISION TO MAKE? SLEEP ON IT!

If you have an important choice to make, a new study says a nap could help you nail it

Umming and ahhing over something? Get some shut-eye! Scientists measured people’s brain activity before and after a nap by hooking them up to an EEG machine and had them carry out two tasks. Experts already knew that our memory is strengthen­ed during sleep, but this study also found that post-nap, people could process informatio­n better and be more decisive compared to when they stayed awake. It makes sense, as you’re more alert. The rule? Don’t make big decisions when tired.
