‘I’ll raise my kids just like their mum taught me to’
The rapper vows to celebrate the life of his late ex-partner Kim Porter with their three children
They had dated on T and off for over a decade, and last week rapper P Diddy – aka Sean Combs – faced the devastating news that his ex-girlfriend Kim Porter, with whom he shares three kids, had died amid reports she’d suffered a cardiac arrest after a battle with pneumonia.
And as pictures emerged of Diddy, 49, holding a memorial service at his house for Kim, sources say he’s determined to keep her memory alive for their son Christian, 20, and twin daughters, D’lila Star and Jessie James, both 11.
A source says, “Kim was so important to Diddy and he’s been inconsolable over her death. He’s trying to staying strong for the kids and has vowed to do everything to raise them the way Kim wanted and will always celebrate her life.”
The star, 49 – who also raised Kim’s son from a previous relationship, Quincy Brown, now 27 – posted a montage of the pair on Instagram, writing, “For the last three days I’ve been trying to wake up out of this nightmare. But I haven’t. I don’t know what I’m going to do without you baby. I miss you so much.”
UPS AND DOWNS
And alongside a picture of their family, he posted, “I’ll raise our family just like you taught me to. Love you forever !!!! ”.
Diddy met Kim, who was just 47 when she died, in 1994. The pair dated on and off – Diddy famously dated Jennifer Lopez in 1999 – until 2007, when Kim found out he’d fathered a baby with another woman.
The source adds, “Through their up and downs, Diddy always loved Kim. He can’t believe she’s gone, but is determined to give their kids a happy future.”
